Description
Grab some fabric and come and make the Tilly & The Buttons Lyra Dress with me over two classes. This dress is the next step on for a beginner but isn’t complicated and makes up beautifully. The Lyra dress offers on-trend elegance, with a hint of fun. You will learn how to use interfacing and facings, how to set in a collar and a sleeve and how to add buttonholes and elastic to a garment. The pattern is endlessly versatile, pick cool cotton for summer, cosy needlecord for winter or drapey viscose for added swish in Spring! The pattern covers sizes from UK6 to UK34. This dress design offers the following elements.
- Easy-fitting bodice which does not cling and includes bust darts and button front opening
- Choice of short sleeves or full-length billowy sleeves with elasticated cuffs
- Gathered skirt can be hemmed at the knee or add the midi-length panel for a trendy tiered look
- Side seam pockets
- Simple two-piece collar and stand
- Optional narrow tie to cinch the waist
The class is run over two weeks with a maximum of five participants. During the first lesson we will cut out and prepare the pieces with markings and start the bodice. On the second day we will make up the dress and finish off the garment. Spending on your speed there may be some cutting and preparing homework between the two classes.
Included in the class…..
Tilly & The Buttons Lyra DressPattern and Instruction Book, PatternTrace Dressmaking Paper, all tools needed to mark the fabrics and lots of expert tuition.
What you need to bring….
