The North Quilt is a traditional quilt with a modern slant designed by Giuseppe Ribaudo. The quilt is made using foundation piecing in an array of three by three-compass blocks. The resulting blocks are stunning.
Foundation piecing is like sewing by numbers, and you do not need to have any foundation piecing experience before this class.
Ahead of the class participants will be sent an original pattern, including the foundation piecing templates and a colouring page. I also include sets of the templates copied onto foundation paper for two complete compass blocks to get you started.
The final quilt is 54” square. However, this pattern makes a great cushion if you would prefer to start with a smaller project.
This Zoom class is accompanied by a detailed video of the foundation piecing technique used to make up the blocks. The video also covers building the quilting, quilting it and finishing the final piece.
