Description

The Dani pattern is an elastic waist short or pant with inseam and rear pockets with a small paper bag waist and finished with a cuff. The design has several options. You can choose to make trousers or shorts with either elastic around the waist or partial elastic with a fly zip closure. The shorts have an inside leg of 3”, and the trousers have one of 27.5”, but both can be lengthened or shortened during the class. The pattern is available in sizes 0-18 or 14-30. You can choose the pattern size when you book,

These garments are made from light to medium-weight woven fabrics, such as a linen mix, cottons and twills. The pockets are made of light woven fabric, such as cotton lawn.

In this class, you will arrive with your pattern traced and your fabric washed. From this starting point, you will learn

  • How to adjust the traced pattern to suit your body
  • How to quickly transfer markings from across your pattern to the fabric
  • How to add inseam pockets to any garment
  • How to create a paper bag waistband
  • How to add a zip fly fastening (even if you choose not to do this, I will demonstrate how it is done)
  • How to finish your garment with hems and cuffs.

Each participant will be sent the pattern and tracing paper ahead of time, along with a short video to explain the pre-work.

The price includes an original copy of the True Bias Dani pattern (worth £20), tracing paper, the required interfacing, and six hours of tuition. There is a maximum of 4 participants in each class.
